Sports network FS1 experienced a major shakeup on Friday when it was announced that Skip Bayless was leaving the channel after being its face for many years.

So, who will step up to replace him?

According to Michael McCarthy, per NBACentral, FS1 is looking to make Nick Wright the new face of the network.

McCarthy wrote:

“According to my sources, FS1 executives believe First Things First star Nick Wright is the future of the network. But do they really want to take the 39-year-old Wright and on-air partners Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes away from their current 3–5 p.m. ET time slot and make them compete head-to-head with rival ESPN’s powerhouse First Take?”

Bayless has been the biggest name on FS1 for years now but it’s time for someone else to lead.

Wright has garnered a lot of fans over the years because of his opinions and strong personality.

He would be a great choice to be the biggest persona on the channel but there is competition for Bayless’ position.

Plus, this might not be the best move for the up-and-coming Wright.

With more attention comes more pressure and expectations.

He would have to perform very well right away if he wished to be the largest person on the channel.

FS1 is also apparently intrigued by Chicago-based sports radio star Danny Parkins, and he might be the one to take over Bayless’ spot.

Either way, it is very clear that FS1 is looking to move beyond Bayless as quickly as possible.

They will be making an official announcement about their new schedule and new direction soon.
