Team USA’s current men’s basketball team has been doing very well at the Paris Olympics and they may be on their way to a gold medal.

Because of the plethora of big stars on the team, many people are comparing this year’s team to the 1992 Dream Team that made Olympic history and changed the game forever.

Speaking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Dream Team assistant coach PJ Carlesimo said he wouldn’t compare this year’s team with the one from 1992.

He stated that competition is so different these days and many fans forget that 1992’s team was the first time that pros had played on such a big international stage.

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors recently stated that he’d choose this year’s team over the 1992 squad.

He is not alone and many NBA fans believe that the squad consisting of LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and others could take down the one featuring Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson, and more.

The debate about these two teams has been heating up lately and it’ll only get hotter if Team USA claims a gold medal this year.

That achievement will have many more people comparing the two teams and wondering which will be considered the greatest of all time.

Carlesimo is right when he says that today’s competition is harder than it was in 1992.

Today’s team is battling against some of the biggest names in the NBA.

That would make success in today’s Olympics even more impressive but would it confirm that 2024’s team is better than 1992’s?
