Steelers Working Out Veteran WR Monday

Over the past few years, the Pittsburgh Steelers could be described in just one word as the team has been painfully mediocre, especially when it comes to how they play on the offensive side of the football.

Fortunately for the storied franchise, the team has one of the best head coaches in the business as Mike Tomlin has been able to figure out ways for this team to consistently make it into the NFL playoffs despite playing in one of the toughest divisions (AFC North) in the league.

With the team’s brass fed up with early exits in the postseason, the Steelers went out and made some bold moves to address the quarterback situation, which they haven’t been able to get right since Ben Roethlisberger retired.

The team brought in Russell Wilson through NFL free agency and traded for Justin Fields, giving Pittsburgh a lot of depth and talent at quarterback.

With the quarterback position secured, even though there’s no telling who will be the starter in Week 1, the team is also looking for ways to improve the receiving corps, as they recently brought in Daylen Baldwin, formerly of the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons, for a workout, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.

Obviously, Baldwin isn’t a game-changer for the Steelers offense, and he might not even make the final roster, but it is an indication that the team is adamantly trying to improve the offense, which bodes well for a solid 2024 campaign.

The Steelers will begin their regular season on September 8, when they travel to face Kirk Cousins and the Falcons.
