The Indianapolis Colts could be on the verge of a special season in 2024.

Despite missing the playoffs by a hair last season, the team did find a way to win nine games, even with rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson knocked out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Now that Richardson is back, the team has high hopes entering this season.

All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor recently appeared on Mad Dog Sports Radio to chat about what impresses him about his quarterback.

“I can see him in these practice simulations … very poised, doesn’t get rattled,” Taylor said.

In the four games that Richarson played last year before he went down, he recorded seven total touchdowns with just one interception.

The No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft has the potential to be a star and has the pieces on offense to help him get there.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen, who nearly guided Jalen Hurts to an MVP season and the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl victory as their offensive coordinator in 2022, is one of the more underrated offensive minds in the game.

With Steichen calling plays, Richarson has a great opportunity to find success.

Additionally, he has a one-time 1,800-yard rusher at his disposal in Taylor, as well as an 1,100-yard receiver in Michael Pittman Jr.

Taking into account Richardson’s talent and poise, as Taylor noted, the ceiling could be quite high for Indy’s offense and team as a whole.

In the end, the result of the Colts’ season could very well be determined by what Richardson can do now that he is healthy again.
