China’s Ningbo port reports explosion on container ship, state news agency says

BEIJING – Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, one of China's largest ports by volume, reported an explosion on a container ship on Friday afternoon. National News Agency Xinhua News Agency.

No casualties have been announced so far.

Reports said the explosion occurred at the bow of the ship. Container tanker YM Mobility flying the Liberian flagA fire and thick smoke erupted on a ship owned by Taiwan's Yang Ming Marine Corp.

Yang Ming lists YM Mobility as part of its fleet on its website. CNBC has contacted the Taiwanese company for comment.

According to MarineTraffic tracking data, the ship has arrived in Ningbo after last calling in Shanghai.
