Dan Orlovsky Has 2-Word Reaction To Bo Nix’s Preseason Debut

After another disappointing season came to an end last year for the Denver Broncos, the team’s brass felt it was time to put an end to the Russell Wilson experiment in the Mile High City and not waste any more time during Sean Payton’s stint with the storied franchise.

As a result, the Broncos chose to release the one-time Super Bowl champion and move in another direction at the quarterback position, which many believed would involve handing the keys over to journeyman Jarrett Stidham.

However, the Broncos appeared to be enamored with the prospect of selecting a rookie quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft, and that’s precisely what the front office in Denver did, with the team bringing in Bo Nix out of the University of Oregon.

With Nix receiving comparisons to New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees and Payton seemingly liking what he sees from the former Ducks star, the Broncos chose to make him their first-round pick, which was one of six players taken at the position in the 2024 NFL Draft.

On Sunday, Denver got their first look at their new rookie quarterback, as he took the field against the Indianapolis Colts and put on a show leading the team to four scoring drives while completing 15 of his 21 pass attempts, prompting ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky to dub him the Broncos new starter under center.

With the Broncos making Nix the starter for next week’s game against the Green Bay Packers, Denver might want to get one more look at him before making it official that he’ll be the Week 1 starter or at least have some more time to see how he does against a different defense.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Broncos can right the ship with Nix under center instead of Wilson, with the team desperately wanting to get back on track in the AFC.
