Odds Show A Favorite To Land CeeDee Lamb If He’s Traded

The Dallas Cowboys have three legitimate stars who are due for a contract extension, and things have gotten a bit serious with one of them.

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb wasn’t present for practice on Tuesday as he’s apparently holding out until he gets the deal he wants, and as a result, there is always the chance the Cowboys end up trading him instead of paying him.

If he does get dealt, he could land with a frontrunning Super Bowl contender, as the Kansas City Chiefs are the betting favorites to land him, per BetOnline.

The Detroit Lions, who are the defending NFC North champions, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are tied for the second-highest betting odds to end up with Lamb.

He was second in the NFL in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns last season and he led everyone in receptions, and he was named to the All-Pro First Team in 2023 for the first time while also making his third straight Pro Bowl.

While the Cowboys have plenty of star power, they also have some definite roster holes.

They do not have a legitimate WR2 threat after Lamb, and they are very weak at running back, and thus if they were to trade Lamb, they could take a big step backward — some may even feel they wouldn’t even make the playoffs without Lamb.

With pass rusher Micah Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott also needing extensions, this could be the beginning of the end for the Cowboys as they are presently constituted.
