These Are 6 Nationalities That Have the Highest Chances to Be Granted a Schengen Visa by Germany

After France, Germany is the second most popular destination for visa applicants. In 2023, Germany received 1.4 million visa applications, which represent 14.1 per cent of all requests.

The country has a higher visa approval rate than some countries, approving between 94 and 99 per cent of the applications, while the average approval rate in 2023 was 84.5 per cent, accounting for 1.2 million approved applications, Schengen.News reports.

According to data published by SchengenVisaInfo.com, out of all countries of origin whose nationals filed more than 1,000 visa requests, the following had the highest visa approval by Germany:

  2. Belarus
  3. China
  4. Jamaica
  5. Philippines
  6. Kuwait

Top 3 Countries With the Highest Rates

With an approval rate of 99.5 per cent and 1,807 approved visas, Hong Kong has the highest approval rate in Germany, among countries with more than 1,000 visa applications submitted. This means that applicants from Hong Kong are likely to receive a Schengen visa in Germany. On the other hand, only five applications were rejected.

Belarus is the country, whose residents and citizens are likely to be approved visas by Germany. In 2023, 51,865 visas were granted, which is 99.17 per cent of all applications filed.

The third country of origin with the highest chances of visa approvals is China, with applicants receiving a positive response on their visa application nearly 97.18 per cent of the time. This means that in 2023, 155,950 out of 160,479 visa requests were approved.

These Countries Have an Approval Rate of More Than 96%

Applicants from Jamaica were granted 1,092 visas, which accounts for 96.81 per cent of visas being approved. Around 97.5 per cent of approved visas were multiple entry visas.

The Philippines is another country with the highest visa approval rates and, at the same time, the country with the highest share of multiple entry visas issued- 99.95 per cent of visas approved, were multiple entry.

As per the total approval rates, those reached 96.15 per cent and accounted for 19,840 issued visas. Kuwait follows on the list with an approval rate of 94.96 per cent and 33,817 visas granted.

Foreign Nationals of Singapore, US, Canada & Ireland Are Also Highly Likely to Be Granted a Schengen Visa by Germany

Passport holders of Singapore, the US, Canada, and Ireland do not need a Schengen visa to enter the zone.

However, foreign nationals who live in these countries and who need a Schengen visa to enter the bloc, such as Chinese, Indonesian, and Indian nationals, must apply for the document.

Foreign nationals residing in these four countries can submit their applications in visa centres located in respective countries, in this case in Singapore, the US, Canada, and Ireland.

Foreigners in Ireland who need a Schengen visa, are in the fifth position for having higher chances of being approved for a visa from Germany. In 2023, 96.6 per cent of visas for this group were granted, accounting for 5,078 issued visas.

Foreign nationals residing in Singapore follow next on the list, with 4,842 visas approved and an approval rate of 96.05 per cent.

Germany also has high visa approval rates for foreigners in the United States, which ranks eighth on this list of countries that filed more than 1,000 Schengen visa applications. Approximately 96 per cent of visa applications from the US to Germany were approved in 2023, which accounts for 19,168 issued visas.

Germany is also highly likely to issue visas to foreign nationals from Canada who need a Schengen visa, considering that 94.47 per cent of visas for these candidates were granted.
