Three Arrested As Police Solves Theft Case in JK’s Pulwama

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have cracked a theft case by arresting three accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.

A police spokesperson in a statement said that the Police Station Pulwama on 09/08/2024 received a complaint from one person namely Irshad Ahmad Dar son of Gh Mohammad Dar resident of Lajoora Pulwama regarding theft of a water pump from the under-construction building at Dangerpora Pulwama.

“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 163/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pulwama, and investigation was promptly initiated,” the police said.

“During the investigation, the team from Police Station Pulwama rounded up three suspects namely Sheraj Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Nabi Bhat resident of Keller, Mehrooz Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar and Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Qasim Mir, both residents of Dangerpora,” the police added.

“After sustained questioning, the suspected persons confessed their involvement in the commission of crime. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” the police said.

“On their disclosure, the stolen water pump was also recovered. Further investigation into the case is ongoing,” the police said.
