Stephen Curry is one of the true legends of the modern NBA, and he’s coming off a marvelous run in the 2024 Summer Olympics where he helped lead Team USA to the gold medal.

But he is 36 years of age, and he only has so much basketball left in him.

Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks was compared to Curry in college and while on “Podcast P with Paul George,” he said that he tried to ignore the comparison and that he took things from the games of various players.

Young has drawn comparisons to Curry because he’s a small guard who isn’t afraid to take a high volume of 3-point shots and can get blisteringly hot at a moment’s notice.

However, there is one big difference between the two: Curry is much more efficient than Young.

For his career, Young has shot just 43.6 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from 3-point range, compared to 47.3 percent overall and 42.6 percent from downtown for Curry.

Curry is known as the greatest outside shooter in basketball history, not just because of his accuracy but also because of his ability to hit shots from very long distances even with one or two defenders in his face.

Another problem Young has is ball security — he has a career average of 4.2 turnovers a game, while Curry is at 3.1 turnovers per contest.

Young has been the subject of trade rumors lately, as the Hawks seem to be on the verge of deciding to rebuild, and despite his flaws, he could give them a big return, especially in terms of draft picks.
