Robert Griffin III Weighs In On Matthew Judon Trade

The Atlanta Falcons made a recent headline-making decision to trade for four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Matthew Judon.

Atlanta sent the New England Patriots a third-round pick in exchange for the veteran.

Former Pro Bowl quarterback Robert Griffin III recently gave his take via social media on the move by Atlanta to bring in some pass-rushing ammunition.

“Matthew Judon is just what the doctor ordered for the Atlanta Falcons,” Griffin wrote. “He had 12+ sacks in two of the last three years and four sacks in four games played last year. … Judon will make them improve in (sacks and interceptions) immediately.”

Don’t look now, but here come the Falcons. They have made some really big moves this offseason to upgrade the roster.

They signed four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins to a massive four-year contract, they brought in former 1,000-yard receiver Darnell Mooney, and now they get Judon.

This roster is one of the more underrated units in the league, especially defensively.

Adding a player with almost 70 career sacks to a defense that includes Pro Bowl defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, stud cornerback A.J. Terrell and Pro Bowl safety Jessie Bates couldn’t hurt one bit.

If Judon produces like he did a few seasons ago with the Pats, the NFC South might be in real trouble.

In a division where the top two teams went 9-8 last year, every move matters.

The Falcons, especially after this trade, are a team to watch as the calendar inches closer toward September.
