Robert Saleh Says 1 Jets Player Is ‘An Ultimate Competitor’

Garrett Wilson’s NFL career has gotten off to a great start, and that’s despite having Zach Wilson as his quarterback.

The New York Jets’ revolving door at the most critical position has been a nightmare for the offense, but the wide receiver has still been able to put up big numbers.

Expectations are now at an all-time high for Wilson, as he won’t only have a competent quarterback for the first time in his career, but he’s going to have one of the greatest to ever do it throwing him the ball.

With that in mind, head coach Robert Saleh gushed about the 24-year-old, his competitive spirit and his work ethic.

“He’s always been an ultimate competitor,” Saleh said, via the team on X.

Talking to the media, the Jets coach claimed that Wilson had put in plenty of work on his route-running skills this offseason.

He also gave him credit for realizing that he doesn’t always have to win the battle at the line of scrimmage, that he can put himself in position to get an edge over his defender when running his route.

Rodgers and Wilson have grown close since the legendary quarterback arrived in a trade from the Green Bay Packers.

They’ve had nothing but praise for each other, and one can only wonder what Wilson’s numbers could look like with a multi-MVP finding him in stride.

The Jets are in full win-now mode, and anything short of a deep postseason run will be considered a massive failure for them.

Wilson will have plenty to do with what they can accomplish this season.
