The NFL preseason is in full swing, the MLB divisional season is heating up, the WNBA regular season is about to end in about a month, and we have said goodbye to the Olympics.
There's a lot going on in the sports world, and tonight we have the first NFL preseason game of Week 2.
Below, I'll cover the NFL's point spread and two MLB bets: the base-running line and the pitching backbone.
Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots

The Patriots scored 17 points, averaged 4.3 yards per game and converted just five of 15 third downs.
Expect the Eagles to keep this close.

Oakland Athletics vs New York Mets

Philadelphia Phillies vs Washington Nationals
Wheeler ranks 12th in MLB with a 9.84 K/9 in 142.2 innings this season. The Nationals averaged 7.50 strikeouts per game, ranking fifth in the league. On the highway this number rises to 8.16.
The support line here is just 6.5, a total that Wheeler has surpassed in five of his last six games. He has made just one start this year against Washington, going seven-plus innings and recording six strikeouts.
In addition to the Nationals being more error-prone on the road, Wheeler also performed better at home, striking out 87 batters and holding batters to a .187 batting average compared to 69 on the road.
That would be a close call at 6.5, but a +104 strikeout average in more than half of starts this season is enticing.
