Nick Wright Issues Own List Of Top 10 NFL Players

Date:

With the start of the 2024 NFL season rapidly approaching on Sept. 5, when the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, talking-head shows like “First Things First” are in top form with their lists, breakdowns, debates and opinions.

Every day, there seems to be a debate over the greatest player at this or that position in the NFL, the top 10 lists of players at skill positions, or simply the best player in general.

Ahead of another weekend of preseason football in the NFL, and inspired by the recent NFL Top 100 list, Nick Wright gave his rundown of who he believes are the top 10 players in the league.

As a Kansas City native and diehard fan of his hometown Chiefs, it is no surprise that three players from that team made the list, with superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes taking the top spot.

Wright has been a vocal fan of Mahomes and the Chiefs ever since the team started winning Super Bowl titles consistently, and having the QB as the best player in the league right now isn’t much of a stretch coming off back-to-back titles. Yet the Top 100 list voted on by NFL players had Mahomes only at No. 4, which likely prompted Wright to respond.

However, having Travis Kelce and Chris Jones in the bottom half of his top 10 list might be a little bit of favoritism and being a fanboy on his part.

As for the rest of the list, Wright when with, in order from Mahomes on down, Trent Williams, Justin Jefferson, Myles Garrett, Joe Burrow, Christian McCaffrey, Kelce, Jones, T.J. Watt and Tyreek Hill, who was a surprising No. 1 on the NFL list.
