Matt Ryan Names 2 NFL Teams Likely To Make Playoffs That Didn’t In 2023

The NFL always has plenty of change when it comes to playoff teams from one year to the next, as you’ll consistently see between 3-5 teams drop off the year after reaching the postseason and being replaced, as the NFL truly does stand for “Not For Long.”

Future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Matt Ryan recently named which two teams (besides his beloved Atlanta Falcons) he believes will make the playoffs this season that weren’t able to get there last year.

While speaking with Kay Adams of Up & Adams, Ryan said the Chicago Bears and the New York Jets while crediting the Jets for having a top-five defense and the Bears for having a strong offseason due to overhauling the skill position units.

The Jets had huge expectations last year that were immediately eradicated due to Aaron Rodgers’ torn Achilles he suffered on the opening drive of the season, but the front office has helped put pieces around him to make his life easier by adding Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses at the tackle spots while also signing Mike Williams to serve as the No. 2 wide receiver.

Chicago completely revamped a lifeless offense and brought in Keenan Allen and No. 9 overall pick Rome Odunze to create a formidable receiving trio with D.J. Moore to hopefully make No. 1 pick Caleb Williams the first 4,000-yard passer in franchise history.

Both teams have tough divisions to compete with, but with three wild card spots, anything is possible.

These are a couple of solid bets to steal playoff berths from last year’s occupants.
