The Dallas Cowboys have finally done it.
After weeks of a will-they, won’t-they situation, the Cowboys signed CeeDee Lamb to a massive contract extension worth up to $136 million.
Lamb has shown to be one of the most prolific receivers in the league, but for whatever reason, Jerry Jones’s team waited a long time to make this deal happen.
He could have been at practice for the last few weeks if this deal had been done sooner, losing valuable time.
Many analysts have expressed their frustrations with the Cowboys about this situation, including Chris Broussard.
As he outlined on FOX Sports Radio, “Cowboys could’ve signed CeeDee Lamb much earlier in the offseason for less money.”

Broussard is under the impression that, had the Cowboys reached a deal with Lamb before Justin Jefferson was extended, they could have saved money.
However, because Jefferson signed the largest non-quarterback contract in league history, Lamb likely held out for more.
This put the Cowboys in a rough spot, one Broussard believes they shouldn’t have been in.
Regardless of how this all played out, Lamb is now a member of the Cowboys for the foreseeable future.
It took a while but at the end of the day, the Cowboys can now move forward with their No. 1 receiver.
Dak Prescott’s contract is next on the docket, and while he hasn’t sat out to this point, it could escalate in the next few months given how Lamb’s deal went.
For a team that is trying to unite and make a deep playoff run, their current state isn’t ideal for anyone involved.
