Former first lady Melania Trump has disputed the official account of the assassination attempt on her husband, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, this summer.

Speaking in a dramatic 30-second video posted to social media on Tuesday to promote her new work MemoirsTrump believes that “there must be more to this story.”

She singled out law enforcement's failure to apprehend gunman Thomas Crooks before the near-fatal shooting of Donald Trump at a campaign rally in western Pennsylvania.

“Trying to end my husband's life was a horrific and painful experience,” she says in the video. “The silence around me feels heavy right now.”

“I can't help but wonder, why didn't law enforcement arrest the shooter before the speech?” she said. “There's definitely more to this story and we need to uncover the truth.”

The video ends with a picture of her new book, “Melania,” and a link to purchase the book. The book will be released in the second week of October.

The Secret Service, which protects Donald Trump and other former presidents, has been heavily criticized for failing to prevent Crooks from opening fire at a July 13 rally in Butler Township, Pennsylvania. On the roof of the location.

Trump was shot in the ear and one man was killed, former fire chief Corey Comperatore. Several other people were injured before Crooks was shot and killed by the Secret Service.

Pennsylvania State Police Capt. Christopher Paris told the House Homeland Security Center that Crooks was identified by police as a suspicious person near the rally because “he was hanging out near the rally and he stood out to them, Because he never entered the venue”. The safety committee held a hearing on July 23.

Crooks was later found by police carrying a rangefinder, according to Parris.

A Butler Township police officer climbed to the edge of the roof only to see Crooks point a gun at him and then fire several rounds with his rifle.

Kimberly Cheatle, who was Secret Service director at the time of the shooting, resigned on July 23, a day after House committee members lambasted her and the Secret Service for their handling of the shooting.
