Chicago Bears rookie receiver Roman Odunze has sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee, multiple media outlets reported Monday night.

Bears coach Matt Eberfus said Odunze was on blocking duty when he was injured. Odunze was scheduled to undergo an MRI early Monday, and Eberflus was initially unsure of the severity of the injury.

“We'll see,” Aberflus told reporters. “I don't have enough information yet.”

Odenze, the ninth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, had an 11-yard catch in Chicago's 24-17 season-opener victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

His catch in the second quarter was one of the highlight reels, as Odunze jumped to catch the ball as it bounced off a defender's helmet. Odunze fumbled after receiving the ball, but was rescued by teammate Teven Jenkins, setting up Cairo Santos' shot for a 17-3 halftime lead.

Odunze, 22, caught 92 passes for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns in 15 games in 2023, his final season at Washington.
