After a forgettable 2023 NFL season for the New York Giants, which was followed by running back Saquon Barkley leaving for the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Daniel Jones becoming the focal point of outraged fans, they were hoping to get off to a good start to this season.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and it looked like more of the same for the Giants in Week 1, with the Minnesota Vikings coming to town and dominating Brian Daboll’s squad from start to finish.
Although Jones is the center of attention in New York for all the wrong reasons, the Giants might have another growing concern heading into their Week 2 matchup against the division-rival Washington Commanders on the road.
Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is dealing with a knee issue and has been limited in practice, according to beat reporter Art Stapleton.

The good news may be that the Giants are just being proactive and careful with their young star.
In his NFL debut, Nabers caught five passes for 66 receiving yards, which was a decent first performance but not special in any way, especially when they ultimately lost 28-6.
Without Nabers on the field, the Giants would be in even more trouble, as he is clearly a favorite target of Jones and a rare dynamic player on the pedestrian offense.
