New Betting Favorite For NFL Offensive Rookie Of The Year

Date:

After selecting Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the expectation for the Chicago Bears was that he had a chance to be a superstar right out of the gate, with everyone in the league seemingly enamored with his potential to be an outstanding quarterback on the professional level.

Unfortunately for Williams, the first two weeks of the 2024 campaign haven’t gone as well as Chicago had hoped after barely getting by Will Levis and the Tennessee Titans in Week 1 before losing to C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 2.

With Williams having yet to throw his first touchdown pass in the NFL, there’s been some concern about whether his rookie season will go as well as anticipated, and as a result, the betting odds for Offensive Rookie of the Year have changed, with two players now favored ahead of him.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. are now seen as neck-and-neck in the race for the award, via ESPN Bet.

This is an interesting turn of events, as many believed Williams would run away with the award by being the starter in Chicago with several talented offensive weapons at his disposal.

However, the offensive line hasn’t done a good job protecting him, leading to lackluster performances with two games in the books for the Bears heading into a Week 3 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
