Disney to ditch Slack after July data breach

According to Disney, the company has begun transitioning to a new internal “streamlined, enterprise-wide collaboration tool,” but on Thursday officially informed employees and cast members that most of its business units will stop using Slack at the end of Disney's next fiscal quarter. Disney told investors in August that the summer data hack, which included a slew of financial information, computer code and details of unreleased projects, was not expected to have a material impact on the company's operations or financial results.

“Our security is rock solid,” Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said at a conference. spoke to Bloomberg this week at the company's annual Dreamforce conference.

Benioff noted that Disney continues to use Salesforce products in other aspects of its business, including Disney Store, Disney Guide, sales and service operations, and call centers.
