Yankees meet A’s, say goodbye to place of prosperous postseasons

The New York Yankees will complete another chapter in their history as they play their final game at the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday afternoon in an attempt to sweep the Athletics' three-game series.

The Yankees (91-64) need any combination of three wins and/or a loss against the Baltimore Orioles in their final seven games of the regular season to clinch the American League East title.

It won't happen on Sunday, but the Yankees will take part in a celebration when they play their 283rd regular season game at the stadium the Athletics moved from Kansas City in 1968.

The Athletics will play their home games in Sacramento for the next three seasons while they await construction of a new stadium in Las Vegas.
