LG Praises Peaceful Conduct, High Voter Participation in JK Polls

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday congratulated the voters for turning out in large numbers during the second phase of the ongoing assembly polls in the Union Territory.

In a post on X LG Sinha said that the record voter turnout is a shining example of a vibrant and progressive democracy.

“I would like to congratulate the voters of Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri, Ganderbal, Budgam, and Srinagar for turning out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. I applaud the spirit of the people in strengthening democratic values and upholding our rich democratic traditions,” he said.

The LG also praised election officials and security forces for ensuring smooth and peaceful polling in all 26 constituencies.

“Record voter turnout is a shining example of a vibrant and progressive democracy. I also appreciate the remarkable contribution of the election officials, JKP, and security forces in ensuring smooth, free, fair, and peaceful polling in the 26 assembly constituencies in Phase 2,” the LG said, according to KNO.
