SRINAGAR: Traffic movement has been halted on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway following a major accident involving five vehicles near the Machlana area of Ramban, officials said.
An official said that three trucks and two vehicles collided near the Machlana area, resulting in injuries to several persons and causing traffic chaos on the highway.
He said that due to the narrow passage, traffic on the highway has been halted.
“Traffic has been stopped from both ends on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway due to an accident involving three trucks and two Innovas at Nachlana. The road is hardly wide enough for a single lane. Commuters are advised to be patient, follow lane discipline, and avoid overtaking, which will lead to congestion. Avoid travel unless necessary,” traffic police said in a statement. —(KNO)
