SRINAGAR: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate for Jammu North Assembly constituency, Sham Lal Sharma has said that it is now or never to make a Dogra Hindu Chief Minister in Jammu and Kashmir.

He asked people to make the BJP win all the 24 seats of Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur districts going for polls on October 1.

Sharma said this while addressing a series of public meetings in Jammu North and Akhnoor Assembly constituencies of Jammu district today.

He was the one who coined the term Hindu CM while being part of the NC-Congress coalition government in 2014 during a rally in Akhnoor which was welcomed by the people of Jammu Jammu. “I spoke about Hindu CM while I was in Congress party and at a time when thinking about it was like a crime. The time has come to realize this dream and make a Sanatani CM in Jammu and Kashmir,” the BJP J&K vice president said.

BJP has pushed all its machinery including Prime Minister, Home Minister, National President and other senior leaders to campaign for party candidates and they want to win maximum seats so that they can emerge as the single largest party in the state and form the government with a Hindu CM.

Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma said that if a Muslim can be the CM of Rajasthan for having just a small population, why not a Hindu can be the CM in J&K. “We have a 32 percent population and we can have the Hindu CM. You people need to make sure that BJP wins all the 24 seats, going for polls on October 1,” he added.

To help other BJP candidates, Sham Lal also addressed three rallies in Akhnoor constituency, which has remained his home constituency in the past, in support of BJP candidate and former SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat.(KNO)
