Over the last several seasons, Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid have created a strong bond and friendship while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Maxey greatly admires and values Embiid and wants the world to know it.

On X, Sam DiGiovanni shared a video that featured Maxey asking for a standing ovation for Embiid.

He called Embiid a close friend and someone who has always been there for him and believed in him.

It’s very clear that these two are more than simply teammates.

Maxey joined the 76ers four seasons ago and didn’t get a whole lot of time on the court during his rookie year.

He started in just 8 of 61 games and averaged 8 points and 2 assists per game.

He greatly improved in his second year, raising his average to 17.5 points per game.

Last season, Maxey put up 25.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game and earned Most Improved Player of the Year.

He has become the team’s second-biggest star right behind Embiid and they work very well together.

And when Embiid has been hurt, Maxey has tried his hardest to keep the team together and help them find success.

Maxey has done so well over the last few years, partly because he is working with a teammate who believes in him and wants to work with him.

Now they are adding another big piece to their lineup with Paul George.

There is a chance that George could be the missing player the team has needed for so long and they could find even more success in 2024-25.

Just a few years ago, Maxey was only starting in eight games and now he is part of the big three for one of the most important teams in the NBA.

That’s because of his own skills but also because of his bond with Embiid.
