SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) President and former parliamentarian Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is destined for defeat, expressing optimism that the public will make the correct choice by casting their votes this time.
“We expect the people to make the right decision for the restoration of special status and other important matters,” Dr Farooq said.
He added that he is pleased the BJP is targeting NC, as it shows NC is the party fighting against them, and that BJP will eventually face defeat.
Regarding the BJP’s statements that Article 370 has been buried, Abdullah said the party has been “burying everything.”
On the Waqf Bill, the former chief minister of the erstwhile J&K state said that the Joint Parliamentary Committee is reviewing the bill, and once it is brought to Parliament, the NC, as part of the INDI Alliance, will take appropriate steps—(KNO).
