Philadelphia 76ers fans finally got to see Paul George in a Sixers jersey on Monday morning.

During media day for his new team, George spoke about his plans for the team and how excited he was to be in Philadelphia.

According to Dan Olinger, he also said, “This is the first time I’ve played with an elite point guard and an elite big man all at once.”

George is obviously referencing Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, his two teams and two-thirds of the big three he is joining.

Some NBA fans might be upset at this statement because it ignores some of the people George has previously played with.

However, it shows how elated George is to be with the Sixers and how much potential he sees with his new team.

It’s good that George is excited because the team has a lot to prove right away.

After years of falling short in the playoffs, the Sixers are hoping to go the distance in 2024-25.

If they do, George will be a huge part of that success.

The team made a few other changes and additions in the summer and fans haven’t been this hopeful about the 76ers in a long time, but that doesn’t guarantee success.

This team has a nasty past with injuries and there are concerns that history will repeat itself.

However, George has arrived and seems very happy with the players he has around him.

He’s in good spirits, Embiid is healthy, and the 76ers are prepared to make fans proud.
