Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel plans to make some changes as Miami trudges back into the game with a 1-3 record and a commanding lead over New England.

The Dolphins rank last in points per game this season, one spot below the Patriots. Miami lost its third straight game to the previously winless Titans 31-12 on Monday night. The Dolphins scored a total of 25 points during the slide. The Miami Heat ranked second in the NFL in scoring last season, averaging 29.2 points per game.

“On the court, it's just not good enough,” McDaniel said Monday night.

“Everything is on the table. For me, I haven't really been in a situation like this where I'm not producing. You really have to keep an open mind about everything.”

Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has not played since suffering a concussion in Week 2, and his return is uncertain. Skylar Thompson started at quarterback last week but was injured and was unable to participate in a full practice.

The Dolphins recently signed Tyler Huntley against the Titans, and McDaniel said the game plan was built around “all the things he feels comfortable with,” utilizing elements of his previous offenses with the Ravens and Browns.

Huntley scored a keeper in the fourth quarter for Miami's first touchdown since Week 2, but threw for less than 100 yards Monday night.

McDaniel felt an early miscue on a lateral pass turned the momentum around.

“Ultimately, there's nothing good about this situation in terms of what we want to accomplish as a team,” McDaniel said. “We need to do enough to win a football game against any opponent. That's not the case right now. We need to fix this quickly.”
