As a result, New York faced Milwaukee, Atlanta faced San Diego to advance to the first round of the playoffs, Detroit faced Houston, and Kansas City faced Baltimore in a three-game wild-card series.

Kansas City Royals vs Baltimore Orioles
That total is too low considering Baltimore's offensive prowess and the Orioles' weaknesses in the bullpen. The total is low because Corbin Burns and Cole Ragans were one of the best matchups on the slate on Tuesday. but Unless Burns plans to go the full nine inningsKansas City had a breakthrough in the Orioles bullpen.
Baltimore's bullpen ranks 23rd in the majors but is the worst of the 12 postseason teams.
The Royals bullpen isn't great either, ranking 20th overall. If Lagans or Burns struggles through seven innings, the opposing lineup will hit. Baltimore's offense is too good for anyone but its best pitchers to stop, and while Kansas City has struggled offensively, it has the talent of Bobby Witt Jr.

Atlanta Braves VS Atlanta Braves San Diego Padres
At least the Warriors can play in the final game of the day.
Losing Game 1 of Monday’s doubleheader and then having Chris Sale scratched by back spasms really screwed up Atlanta’s plans before the series even started.
The Braves had to burn Spencer Schwellenbach and used several other arms, then went without Sale in Game 2, forcing them to burn more pitchers in a must-win game .
Atlanta essentially starts with three starters in the wild-card round against a Padres team that's rested and ready to go. San Diego won the season series over Atlanta 4-3, and all three of the Braves' wins came with Sale or Schwellenbach on the mound. Neither man should play on Tuesday, and the Padres will throw out Michael King. King has a 1.59 ERA in his past three starts and hasn't allowed more than 2 runs in a start since Aug. 7. The championship must be followed by a cross-country road trip to San Diego. The sled racing here is going to be tough for Atlanta.
