Paul George certainly created a lot of headlines when he left the Los Angeles Clippers for the Philadelphia 76ers this summer.

But anyone paying attention shouldn’t have been surprised because his move to Philly had apparently been in the works for some time.

Speaking to House of Highlights, per NBACentral, George admitted that he was already “feeling” the Sixers during the last postseason when he and Joel Embiid seemed to be very chummy.

This proves he had his sights set on coming to the 76ers, even if a deal wasn’t done yet.

Ever since rumors of George leaving the Clippers started, Philadelphia has been at the top of the list as possible suitors to land him.

They had everything George needed: money to spend, a good position in the Eastern Conference, and some great players.

George is very fond of Embiid and admitted that they’ve secretly been friends for years.

He also called him one of the best big men in the league so it’s no surprise to see him come to Philadelphia.

George has looked very happy in Philadelphia during recent interviews and he clearly thinks he made the right choice.

But now comes the hard part and the 76ers will need to remain healthy and battle hard in the East.

They have had promising rosters before but bad luck, bad choices, and bad injuries have derailed them repeatedly.

Will George and his new team have better luck in 2024-25 and will he prove this was the right choice?

He’s wanted to be in Philadelphia for a while and now it’s time for George to get to work.
