FOX Host Says 1 Superstar QB Is ‘Washed’

The hype and high expectations surrounding the New York Jets have once again subsided, but this time, it isn’t due to injury.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has managed to stay relatively healthy so far, but his play has been mediocre, despite a couple of bursts when he has looked more like his MVP self.

The 40-year-old, who tore his Achilles during New York’s first offensive series last season, has thrown for 849 yards and five touchdowns while completing 64.1 percent of his pass attempts through four games.

However, coming off a discouraging loss to the Denver Broncos in which the Jets could not score a touchdown, FOX Sports host Chris Broussard is extremely skeptical of Rodgers’ prospects going forward.

“The evidence is mounting, dare I say, that you’re washed,” Broussard said on “First Things First.”

Though some were rightfully concerned Rodgers would be a shell of himself coming off his Achilles injury, others felt he would do just fine and that the Jets would have at least a puncher’s chance of reaching the Super Bowl.

Instead, they’re 2-2 heading into their Week 5 meeting against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in London.

Against Denver, Rodgers was 24-for-42 for 225 yards and no touchdowns, and he failed to help his team score points on his last three offensive drives of the game.

Things won’t get easier for New York, as after facing Minnesota it will return home to play the Buffalo Bills on “Monday Night Football” in Week 6.

New York’s defense has been very strong, but the Jets won’t go anywhere unless Rodgers starts playing better and they start putting a lot more points on the board on a consistent basis.
