The Minnesota Vikings opened a 21-day practice window Friday for Pro Bowl tight end TJ Hockenson, who has been on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list since the start of training camp.

The Vikings have 21 days to activate Hockenson to the 53-man roster and could wait until the Week 8 game against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 24. (4-0) Sunday against the New York Jets (2-2).

On December 24, Hockenson tore the anterior cruciate ligament and anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, and the team lost 24-30 to his former team, the Detroit Lions. Hockenson, 27, underwent surgery on January 29.
