After the 2023 NFL season officially came to an end for the Las Vegas Raiders, with the team getting the best of the division-rival Denver Broncos in the regular-season finale, the top priority for team owner Mark Davis and company was to make a decision about the head coaching position.

The team parted ways with head coach Josh McDaniels on Halloween, with Davis growing tired of no progress being made and the former New England Patriots offensive coordinator losing the locker room.

With the team moving on from McDaniels, the Raiders turned to Antonio Pierce to be the interim head coach to get the team through the rest of the season, with Champ Kelly taking over for fired general manager Dave Ziegler.

Even though initially it didn’t seem as though Pierce was a viable candidate to be the team’s new head coach, he quickly won over the players, especially star defensive end Maxx Crosby.

As a result of winning five of the final nine games of the 2023 campaign while also earning the respect of the players, Pierce is now finalizing a deal to become the team’s head coach moving forward, with Crosby taking to Twitter to express his thoughts on the decision by the Raiders brass.

Crosby became so enamored with Pierce as his head coach that he basically threatened to issue a trade request if the team didn’t retain him, which is a bold statement coming from arguably the Raiders’ best player.

Even though the team has not made the official announcement, Crosby appears to be pleased that the franchise made the right move.
