Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Chargers made it official that the team has found Brandon Staley’s successor, with the team agreeing to terms with former University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh to be their leader on the sideline moving forward.

After a lot of speculation about his future coaching football, whether it be on the college level with Michigan or getting back in the NFL, Harbaugh made the move that most people thought he would in becoming the next head coach of the Chargers.

One of the biggest draws for the Chargers, when it came to looking for the next head coach, was the fact that they have a superstar quarterback on a win-now team stacked with talent on both sides of the football.

With Justin Hebert under center, the Chargers will always have a chance to make some noise in the AFC, and Harbaugh is fully aware of that fact.

According to Daniel Popper of The Athletic, Harbaugh met his new starting quarterback and joked he was ‘a little starstruck” talking with Herbert for the first time.

With Harbaugh getting “a little starstruck” by Herbert, it clearly means he’s been a fan of the 25-year-old and is excited to work with him in Los Angeles for many years to come.

The real question moving forward is whether Harbaugh is the missing piece to the championship puzzle for the Chargers, as this team has underachieved time and time again and desperately needs to see some success with Herbert under center.
