The Washington Commanders have been in the news a lot over the past year.

The sale of the team was a massive event, as two different parties were slated to jump in to be their new ownership group.

Now that everything is established, the Commanders can move forward, making necessary changes as the new owners see fit.

One of their first major acts will be to choose a new head coach, as Ron Rivera was fired at the end of the season.

Members of the Commanders’ front office are reportedly in Detroit today to interview Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, according to Adam Schefter.

Johnson has been linked to the Commanders for several weeks, and many believe he is a shoo-in to get this job.

The Lions improved mightily under his leadership on offense, a big reason they made it to the NFC Championship game.

However, the same can be said about their defense under Glenn, who could be a surprising, yet fitting new coach for this team.

The Commanders had a lot of struggles last season, both as an organization and as an on-field unit.

The front office will need to decide what direction they want to go as a team.

If they plan to draft a quarterback with their first-round pick, the Commanders could select Johnson as their head coach, hoping to help develop and grow the young talent.

Judging by how quickly the head coaching search has gone throughout the offseason, the Commanders will likely act fast with their decision, no matter who it ends up being.
