Although his numbers were down a bit this season, Travis Kelce was chosen to appear in the Pro Bowl for the ninth straight season.

With his Kansas City Chiefs headed to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in the last five seasons, he declined to appear in the Pro Bowl, which meant a replacement needed to be selected.

That replacement will reportedly be Evan Engram of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Engram is one of the more underrated tight ends in the NFL, and he posted a team-high 114 receptions for 963 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season.

Along with running back Travis Etienne and wide receivers Christian Kirk and Calvin Ridley, he is part of a quartet of playmakers who have made Jacksonville one of the hottest young teams in the league over the last two seasons.

After getting hot late last season and advancing to the divisional round of the playoffs, the team won eight of its first 11 games in 2023, but faltered down the stretch and finished with a disappointing 9-8 record.

As a result, the Jaguars missed the playoffs.

Still, they should be a force next season, as they’re a relatively young team and have a capable quarterback in Trevor Lawrence who will be going into his fourth pro season.

As a franchise, the Jaguars have been in the AFC Championship Game three times but haven’t gotten to the Super Bowl since their inception in 1995, but they seem to have more hope and confidence than they ever had previously.
