President Joe Biden's campaign insisted on Friday that he will continue to top the Democratic ticket, emphasizing in a new memo that Biden still has the support of voters despite growing calls from Democratic lawmakers for him to drop out.

“While voters continue to mention President Biden's age when contacted, our target voters—both re-engaged and true swing voters—still plan to vote for him, indicating that this debate is not damaging to what will determine this election. the support of voters in this election,” said. The memo was first reported by NBC News.

“Joe Biden has made it clear that he is in this race and that he will win. Furthermore, he is the presumptive nominee and has no plans to seek a replacement,” the memo said.

On Thursday night, Montana Sen. Jon Tester became the second Democratic senator to publicly call on the president to withdraw. On Friday morning, Rep. Sean Casten of Illinois became the 21st House Democrat to do so.

The Montana senator's statement follows reports that, Senate Majority Leader Schumer and previous House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Calls with Biden in recent days have told him that his presidential bid could cost the party in both houses of Congress in November.

“In just a few weeks, Joe Biden will become the official nominee. It's time for us to stop fighting each other,” Canninen's memo reads. “The only person who wins when we fight is Donald Trump.”
