Russell Westbrook is heading to the Denver Nuggets and this might be his best chance of finally securing a championship ring.

Speaking on Friday’s “Undisputed,” Paul Pierce said that Westbrook is a great fit with the Nuggets and thinks he can add a level of experience and guidance to the team.

Noting that Westbrook has “done everything else you can do in the game of basketball,” Pierce said it’s now his time to become a champion alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

In Pierce’s mind, he sees Westbrook as the team’s point guard while Murray shifts over to Denver’s shooting guard.

He envisions Westbrook having a role much like Jason Kidd for the Dallas Mavericks or Rajon Rondo for the Los Angeles Lakers.

He may no longer be the number one choice when it comes to offense, but he can assist other players and lead the team, make plays, and bring everyone on the floor together.

Pierce knows many critics have said Westbrook doesn’t often fit in with his teams.

He had trouble with Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and almost every team he’s been on.

Despite that, Pierce thinks Westbrook can immediately slide into the rotation and do great things with the Nuggets.

Denver is still a championship contender even though they were taken down by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the playoffs last season.

They have lost a few important pieces of the team over the last couple of seasons and Westbrook can fill some of their voids, according to Pierce.

This signing could be mutually beneficial for both Denver and Westbrook and could lead them all to a title.
