It is never easy for a young NBA player to follow in the footsteps of their father, who played in the league before them, especially when their father is a six-time NBA champion and Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen.

Unfortunately for Scotty Pippen Jr., that is what he is tasked with as he continues to try to get his professional career off the ground and prevent from being someone who bounces back and forth between the G League and the NBA level while also having to prove himself in the NBA Summer League every year.

Although the undersized guard has had to try and make a career for himself in the NBA the hard way, he has stayed focused and determined to make it happen, as he was easily one of the best players during the Memphis Grizzlies stint in the Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, this year.

Pippen has played so well in this tournament that he led the Grizzlies to the NBA Summer League Championship game, which will be played Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The 23-year-old helped his team advance to the championship game with an impressive triple-double performance against the Los Angeles Clippers via the NBA’s Twitter account.

The Grizzlies will take on the Golden State Warriors on Monday night in Las Vegas, with Pippen being the star of the show as he’ll have all eyes on him as he tries to lead his team to a title and convince Memphis to give him a spot in the rotation next season.

With the way Pippen has played during the Summer League and his progress over the past year or so, it is safe to assume that he will have a role on the team next season as it attempts to bounce back with superstar guard Ja Morant back in the fold.
