De facto Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris said Thursday that she is “ready to debate” her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump.
“I think voters deserve to see the split screen that exists in this race on the debate stage, so I'm ready for it,” Harris told reporters on an airport tarmac outside Washington. “Let's go.”
Vice President Harris said she has agreed to confront Trump on September 10.
“Now it looks like he's going backwards,” Harris said of Trump Thursday afternoon. But I'm ready.
Trump told a press conference earlier this week that he “didn't like” participating in a debate hosted by ABC, which he called “fake news.”
But he said he would “absolutely” be willing to debate Harris if she became the Democratic nominee.
“I'm actually willing to have more than one debate,” Trump said during a conference call Tuesday afternoon.
