The Minnesota Twins released infielder Royce Lewis from rehab assignment Friday and returned him from the 10-day injured list.
Lewis, 25, has missed the Twins' past 16 games with a strained right adductor muscle. He went 1-for-6 from the field for a double-double in two games against Triple-A St. Pauls this week.
Lewis is batting .292 with 10 home runs and 18 RBIs in 24 games with Minnesota this season.
In parts of three seasons with the Twins, Lewis batted .303 with 27 home runs and 75 RBI in 94 games.
Also on Friday, the Twins elected to trade catcher Jair Camargo to St. Paul.
Camargo, 26, is 0-for-6 with three strikeouts in five games with the Twins this season.
