Jerry Jones Was Asked If Dak Prescott Is Better Than Jordan Love

The Dallas Cowboys may need to pony up even more money if they hope to sign Dak Prescott to an extension after seeing some of the other deals that have been agreed to around the NFL.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones has been adamant that the team believes in Prescott and wants to sign him long term, but so far no deal seems to be imminent.

Pressure must be mounting, though, after players like Trevor Lawrence and Tua Tagovailoa signed lucrative deals with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins, respectively.

However, the most jarring deal is Green Bay Packers Jordan Love’s as he signed for four years and $220 million, tying him for the highest-paid quarterback in the league.

Jones was recently asked whether or not Prescott was better than Love and he sidestepped the question and emphasized he’s looking forward to his quarterback proving any doubters wrong via Jon Machota of The Athletic.

“I get in trouble every time I make comparisons,” Jones said. “I do get in trouble and of course we saw a head-to-head match with Green Bay last year. We’ve all got that bird in our saddles. I’m anxious for Dak to get his chance to show he’s the best with a Cowboys star on him.”

Love thoroughly outplayed Prescott in the playoff matchup, so the latter has a lot to prove.

Prescott’s postseason struggles have been on display in years past and this recent iteration doesn’t instill much confidence.

Still, Jones and the Cowboys don’t have any alternatives and would be best served signing Prescott sooner rather than later.
