Adam Schefter Reveals What The Steelers Think Of Justin Fields

A very intriguing quarterback situation might be developing in the Steel City.

Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson was signed this offseason to likely become the starter for head coach Mike Tomlin and Co.

But the team also traded for former Bears quarterback Justin Fields.

With Wilson recently sitting out of training camp practice due to injury, Fields has gotten to take some reps with the starters.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to chat about how Fields is fitting into Pittsburgh and what the current quarterback situation looks like.

“Justin Fields has gotten better and better and the Steelers love the guy,” Schefter stated.

Judging by Schefter’s comments, it appears as though Fields has taken advantage of getting some valuable reps with the starters in training camp.

However, it may all hinge on what Wilson (calf) looks like when he returns to full health.

Keep in mind that as the starter in Chicago, Fields had a record of 10-28 and threw 30 interceptions in 40 total games played.

Wilson, aside from a couple of tough seasons in Denver, clearly has had more success at the NFL level and might be on his way to Canton when all is said and done.

This choice should be fairly obvious but if the calf injury affects Wilson’s play, it might be Fields’s job.

Regardless, the incline of play from Fields should be a welcome sight for the former Buckeye, who has seemingly found a good place to improve his game in western Pennsylvania.
