Chris Simms Says 1 Rookie QB Is ‘Just A Natural’

The Chicago Bears have never had a top-tier quarterback in their history.

Now, for the first time ever, they have someone who could turn that around.

Caleb Williams is a rare kind of talent, and even though he hasn’t taken the field for an official game yet, you can already tell he’s going to be special.

At least, that’s how NFL analyst Chris Simms feels.

He took to Twitter to share a clip of the No. 1 pick making a very difficult throw, going to his right and completing the pass in the most Patrick Mahomes-like fashion.

Simms called Williams ‘a natural,’ and while it’s just a throw on a small sample size during a preseason game, he’s right on point.

Williams has drawn multiple comparisons to Mahomes in the past.

Granted, not even the most optimistic scout ever thought Mahomes would turn out to be as great as he is; otherwise there’s no way he would’ve slipped.

Of course, a lot of things can happen and have an impact — both positive and negative — on a young player’s development, especially at the quarterback position.

But the Bears seem to have a plan for their prized rookie.

And while their offensive line needs some improvement, they’ve given Williams more than enough talent to at least put him in a position to succeed or take steps in the right direction right out of the gate.
