Multiple Teams Are Inquiring About Trade For Patriots Star

The New England Patriots ended the 2023 NFL season with one of the worst records in the league, as Bill Belichick and company could only manage to win four games, resulting in another disappointing campaign and some drastic changes that needed to be made.

Ultimately, the Patriots brass decided to start from scratch after the 2023 campaign, with the team parting ways with Belichick after 24 seasons, handing the keys over to former player Jerod Mayo.

With the team intent on starting from scratch and beginning what could be an extensive rebuilding process in New England, the team doesn’t seem willing to sign veteran players to long-term deals, even if they deserve a lucrative contract extension.

The team’s entire focus right now seems to be developing rookie quarterback Drake Maye and hoping the franchise can become competitive again in the near future.

As a result of this new direction, star pass rusher Matthew Judon has been unable to secure a lucrative long-term contract extension with the Patriots, which has led to some trade rumors swirling about a potential move being made.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, multiple teams have contacted the Patriots about trading for Judon.

At this point in time, it might be more likely that Judon is traded rather than agreeing to a new contract with the Patriots, as the two sides seem to be heading in opposite directions.

Only time will tell how things pan out in New England and whether Judon will continue to suit up for the Patriots or head elsewhere ahead of the start of the 2024 NFL season.
