FlyQuest move to upper-bracket semifinals at LCS Summer Split

FlyQuest defeated NRG in the League Championship Series Summer Playoffs on Sunday to advance to the upper bracket semifinals.

With the 3-1 victory, FlyQuest will face Cloud9 on Saturday. Cloud9 went 6-1 in the group stage of the summer split and entered the playoffs starting from the semi-finals.

NRG fell into the lower bracket and will face Dignitas on Thursday. Dignitas was swept by 100 Thieves in the opening round of the playoffs on Saturday.

FlyQuest won their first game in blue in 34 minutes, but NRG tied the game with a 37-minute win in blue. FlyQuest Blue won in 30 minutes and Red sealed the game in 31 minutes.

South Korea's Song “Quad” Su-hyeong leads the way in wins with 20/5/25 kills/deaths/assists. Team Canada teammate Fahad “Massu” Abdulmalek followed on March 19, 2037. Cristian “Palafox” Palafox of the United States carried NRG on 14-18-2010.

Eight teams compete for six spots in the League of Legends Summer Split double-elimination tournament.

All group matches are best-of-three, while the playoffs are best-of-five. The winner of the tournament will receive $100,000 of the $200,000 prize pool, and the top three teams will qualify for the World Championship.
