Beyoncé launches whiskey line with LVMH’s Moët Hennessy

Beyoncé holds her whiskey high.

The star is venturing into luxury booze, launching a new whiskey range in partnership with LVMH’s Moët Hennessythe brand announced in the media release Tuesday.

Beyoncé shared the news on Instagram while raising a glass of whiskey called SirDavis postal The title is “Davis in My Bones” and a link to the wine website.

Beyoncé joins Mark Wahlberg, George Clooney and more celebrities in using their status to promote high-end spirits brands as consumers seek out luxury spirits.

As Louis Vuitton's wine and spirits division expands into the American whiskey market, Sir Davis is also committed to paying homage to Beyoncé's legacy. Sir Davis is named after Beyoncé's great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, who hid whiskey bottles as a farmer in the South during Prohibition, according to a press release.

“When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshiner, it felt like my love for whiskey was destined,” Beyoncé said. “Sir Davis is my way of paying tribute to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy.”

The whiskey line is based in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston. SirDavis is made and bottled in Texas, marking Moët Hennessy's first spirits brand developed entirely in the United States, according to a press release.

SirDavis is made from 51% rye and 49% malt and matured in sherry casks, which the distiller says creates a “bold yet sophisticated” profile.

The tall bottle features a bronze horse, a nod to Beyoncé's latest album.

SirDavis retails for $89 per bottle and will be available in September.
