Fans Are Amazed At CFL League’s Wild Field Goal Rule

The NFL is looking to inject some more excitement in the special teams phase of the game after implementing new kickoff rules that will go into effect during the 2024 NFL season.

Fans have already gotten to see the new rules in effect during the preseason and it’s taken some getting used to as players line up in different sections of the field and have been returning more kicks.

The new rules are meant to protect players as well as encourage more scoring opportunities, and so far the reviews have been generally well-received.

The rules were adopted from the UFL which proved how exciting they could be when implemented correctly and it’ll be interesting to see how they pan out over the course of the regular season and playoffs.

Meanwhile, the CFL has its own special teams rules though one of them is going viral via MLFootball.

From the fan reaction, it seems that this field goal rule isn’t very popular and understandably so as the point of a field goal is to kick it through the uprights.

This is one of those rules that will likely never be seen at the NFL level, though it does make for an interesting twist in tied games in the CFL.

The league will likely continue tinkering with new ideas, though this one can safely be scrapped.
