Chiefs Made 4 Roster Moves On Saturday

Just when it seemed like the Kansas City Chiefs were all set with their 53-man roster and practice squad, GM Brett Veach surprised us all again.

Week 1 is just around the corner, yet the reigning Super Bowl champions continue to shuffle their practice squad.

They recently announced that they had added RB Emani Bailey and DT Marlon Tuipulotu to their practice squad.

In corresponding moves to make room for them, they had no choice but to terminate the contracts of DTs Matt Dickerson and Neil Farrell.

Tuipulotu’s addition was expected after the news broke on Friday that they were keeping tabs on him, thus making Dickerson and Farrell somewhat expendable.

He entered the league as a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he’s not expected to take the field unless there are some serious depth issues.

As for Bailey, he’s an undrafted rookie out of TCU who was already with the team in training camp.

The 22-year-old logged ten rushes for 29 yards in the preseason, and he had more than 1,200 yards in his final season at TCU.

Likewise, with the Chiefs boasting a stacked running back corps, Bailey’s chances of finding his way to the field are slim, to say the least.

Whether Veach is done making moves before the start of the season is anybody’s guess, as he won’t have that much time to operate anymore.

The back-to-back Super Bowl champions kick off the season on Thursday with an AFC Championship Game rematch with the Baltimore Ravens.
